UC Small Group

Small Groups are the essential community connection for UC Members and Attenders.  We call this belonging.  A Small Group offers you and 6-12 other adults an opportunity to relate to one another about day to day stuff in a natural setting.  You will study the Bible together and encourage and care for one another as you apply spiritual truths to everyday life. We call this Believing.  Sharing life closely with other Christ-followers grounds your faith and equips you to discover and live out your mission to Love God, Love People and Serve Our World.  We call this Becoming

What people are saying about Small Groups

  • “I do not know what I would do without my small group.  They have supported me through various struggles and problems, and most recently have been helping me while I deal with a job-loss.  Every person should join a small group.”
  • “Thanks so much for encouraging me to join a Small Group.  At first, I was somewhat skeptical about joining one.  However, after having the courage to show up and give it a try, I have found my group to be one of the best things I have ever done. We look after one another offering real help one, and pray for one another, and I have learned so much from each of them.”

Get Connected

Small  Groups meet for about 2 hours each week during September through December, and in February until June.  UC offers small groups in the evening and during the morning.  If you are ready to connect to a Small Group click the link below.

F.A.Q. about Community Groups

  • How long is the commitment I am making when I join a group? The minimal commitment is for one term, which is approximately 8-10 weeks. As relationships form and people become comfortable in a group, most stay connected with the same Small Group for much longer, even years.
  • What happens during a Small Group meeting? Each group develops its own weekly rhythm but you can expect most sessions to contain a mix of conversation about what’s happening in each other’s lives, a Bible study component that links to the current sermon series and a time of prayer together.
  • If I have children can I bring them to Small Group with me? The short answer is – it depends. Some groups are designed to be family-friendly while other groups are less so. The best approach is to contact your Small  Group leader and discuss the best plan for your family.
